St Andrews and KU

During my first semester at KU, my cousin, Sheridan, asked if everyone carried their books. I thought that it was a dumb question, no one carried them, everyone had a backpack. I finally realized that it was not a dumb question. When you have one class a day and need one binder for that class, it is much easier (and cooler) looking to carry it. So, tomorrow for the first time, I will not take a backpack to class.Tomorrow I have the castles class. I think we are talking about nobility and stuff like that. Today I had Archaeology. We had a guest lecturer. He was very funny and him and my teacher played off each other very well. In that class we learned about all the different ways to protect (and ruin) sites. It was very interesting and I am very glad I am taking this class; however, have 2 hours of a power-point lecture, you start to get a little tired. There are 10 people in that class. One kid thinks he is the shit, since he went to Field School in Virginia and actually dug out "dead slave owners." I feel bad for him though because he is the hairiest person I have ever seen.
I miss KU so much. As much as St. Andrews is cool and fun and still a University, I miss KU. I miss the Homecoming parade and football games and the pre-football-game video and waving the wheat and Kayla and I's 10 minuet gym workouts and study parties with Kathleen and ping-pong with Mattie and  homework breaks with Kathleen at night that turned into 3 hours of talking and laughing and coming back to the dorm at 3 and hanging out with friends and Wesco beach... and Bryant... and swahili and Mwalimu and Mass St and 3 spoons with Hilary and walking outside and seeing the KU landscape and smelling the Midwest fall air and the farm tour and all that KU spirit! Needless to say, I am glad I am only here for a semester.
