Thanksgiving

The Turkey! 5.7 kilos, 12.5 pounds. 37 pounds (money) + the 5 pounds down payment. I actually had fun carrying it back to DRA. It shouted I am American and proud of it. It looked and felt smaller then I was expecting after seeing them come into the shop this morning. I got it from the American shop in town. They also sell Goober jelly, mac and cheese, marshmallow fluff, goldfish, fried onions, cooking pumpkin in a can, and most importantly, a turkey!

The mess I walked into this morning...

I thought it was going to be clean...

While I was at class, Megan and Elizabeth buttered the turkey. I said I was going to cook it, but I was at class the first hour it was in the oven. I started to get it ready, but when someone had to stick their hand up the turkey's butt to see if all the stuff was out and Megan volunteered, she pretty much became the turkey person.

The dessert, excuse me, pudding station.

The trash from the night. lots...

Sam serving the Mulled wine. It was hot wine with cinnamon and oranges.

Getting leftovers.

Me and Megan's turkeys.

Chairs from Sam's flat.

My turkey.

What I was left to clean up, which I am happy to, since everyone says I did not contribute. It is not my fault that I had class. I cooked rice, corn, and the gravy, and helped watch the other food cook. I took the turkey out of the oven when it was done.

The Turkey "bits and bobs"

I did not think being away from my family for Thanksgiving was going to be a big deal. But, I miss them! It was not the same.
